R.C. Harlan is a partner at Larson O'Brien LLP.  His practice includes complex commercial disputes, including wrongful death issues, mass torts, complex business disputes, and securities class actions.  Mr. Harlan has conducted several internal investigations of large and small companies.  Mr. Harlan has represented clients in the pharmaceutical, medical device, and healthcare industries.  Mr. Harlan is also an experienced appellate lawyer, having worked on appeals in state and federal court.  

Prior to Larson O'Brien LLP, Mr. Harlan was an associate at Kirkland & Ellis LLP, Sidley Austin LLP, and Arent Fox LLP.  He was also a clerk to the Honorable Boyce F. Martin, Jr. of the United States Court of Appeal for the Sixth Circuit.  Mr. Harlan received his law degree from Boston University School of Law where he received cum laude honors, and is a graduate of Claremont McKenna College.

Eleven lawyers have jumped ship from Arent Fox to start a litigation boutique in Los Angeles. Larson O'Brien will focus on high stakes matters, including commercial litigation, internal investigations, appellate work and international arbitration.

The U.S. Court of Appeals found that a lower court made the right call when it awarded California-based lawyer $2.88 million in fees plus interest.
